There have been a lot of searches on the web for the Nigerian Constitution these days. Maybe it is the season of politics or maybe people just want to know. I used to have just the 1999 Constitution available for download, but I have now added the files for 1960, 1979 and 1989. The amended 1999 Constitution would be added later when I get hold of it.

Agini…, it’s almost a year since u got e-copies of The Nigerian Constitution of 1960, 1979, 1989 and 1999 and I guess u r still searching for the amended one of 199?kini? But the more important question to me is – having gotten them all, wetin u take dem do? There was a point to getting them right and not just for information sakes? What knowledge were u going to glean from them -& have you now so u can share with moi? Cuz I tell you my friend, it’s one thing to have the ‘rights’ enshined in them, quite another to interpret it the same way and even harder to enforce them. uuuuum.

Each of the constitution instruments is given a ‘tag’ viz:
1914 – Lugard;
1922 – Clifford;
1946 – Richards;
1951 – Mcpherson; and
1954- Lyttleton.
